TERRIFIC DOG TRAINING SERVICE in southeastern pennsylvania

Gloria Pinsker In-Home Dog Training sessions occur in your home with your dog and members of your household. You will first learn how to communicate with your dog in order to get the proper response without the use of inhumane methods. Positive, reward-based, dog-friendly methods are used with love, patience, understanding. The key component to a successful training session is your commitment to carry out any behavior modification instructions and giving your dog adequate exercise. It requires practicing commands with your dog 15 to 20 minute per day (broken down into 5-minute sessions). The results will be well-worth the effort!

Training Service Guarantee/Lifetime Support

Gloria Pinsker In-Home Dog Training offers phone and e-mail support during and after the completion of each training program. This pertains to all training lessons and mini-courses

Training Service Guarantee: If your dog should regress on anything that was taught during the training program, a brush-up lesson may be provided free of charge, if necessary. There is no time limit on this guarantee, provided the dog does not change ownership and the owner still resides within the training area (for brush-up lesson). This guarantee is limited to the Life Lessons 101 for Puppies Course, and the Basic Good Manners & Obedience Course for Adolescent & Adult Dogs. To qualify, you must have actually taken every lesson and paid in full. It does not apply to single lessons/consultations, mini-courses, or to any new problems that develop with your dog after completion of initial training, as these may require further training.

CLICKER TRAINING IS AVAILABLE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR MOST DOGS

Life Lessons 101 for Puppies

"Life Lessons 101 Course for Puppies" covers everything necessary to help your puppy become a happy, well-adjusted member of your family. It is generally recommended for puppies who have had little to no formal training. The lessons taught include: focusing, targeting, sit, stay, down, settle, come, loose-leash walking, and can also cover optional commands such as leave it, drop it, go to place, fetch, etc., at no additional cost. Clicker training is the usual method, as it promotes quick learning and long-lasting results; however, if you prefer not to use a clicker, you don't have to. ALL training is positive, reward-based, and dog-friendly!

Your puppy will receive a handsome diploma upon graduation, and you will be entitled to lifetime support and the training service guarantee on your dog's training for the remainder of its life.

Basic Good Manners & Obedience Training for Adolescent & Adult Dogs

This course teaches obedience commands that your dog has not yet learned, and/or refines obedience commands that your dog may have learned in a puppy class but either hasn't mastered, or that you might want to do at a more advanced level. (See list of obedience commands at the top of this page). It also teaches "good doggy manners" in situations such as greeting people, and also addresses behavior problems that crop up in the adolescent or adult dog, such as stealing, counter-surfing, wildness in greeting people, digging, barking, etc. The number of sessions required will depend on the type and number of behavior issues that are being addressed. You will be entitled to lifetime support and the training service guarantee on your dog's training for the remainder of its life.

PROOFING OF OBEDIENCE COMMANDS

Single lessons are suitable for dogs who are already basically trained, but need help with certain commands, or fine-tuning or a refresher on their training. Behavior consultations address one or two problems per session, depending on the situation. Single training sessions and consultations are generally 1-1/2 to 2 hours long, depending on the material to be covered.

HOUSEBREAKING CONSULTATION
The housebreaking program is structured around your own personal household schedule, and your dog can be trained to eliminate outdoors, indoors on paper, or a combination of both. The Housebreaking consultation is a one-time visit.

ADVANCED OBEDIENCE - Some things you can do with your dog after he has mastered the Basics:

PLAY AGILITY
This 4-lesson course includes a portable agility kit, which you can set up in your yard or basement, and is yours to keep. Your dog must have permission from your veterinarian before beginning agility work.

"NOT-SO-STUPID DOG TRICKS"
The "Not-So-Stupid Dog Tricks" program is available for dogs who have a good response to basic commands. This course can be as long as you want and involve as many fun tricks as you would like to teach your dog, provided she has the mental and physical abilities to do them. More information upon request.

AGGRESSION PROBLEMS: Some mild cases of leash aggression or resource guarding/overprotective behavior are accepted. We will be more than happy to discuss your dog's aggression problems with you. However, because of the inherent safety and liability risks, we choose not to work with dogs who have serious aggression issues (i.e., those who have already bitten a person or another animal). If your dog starts to exhibit seriously aggressive behavior, your first step should be to rule out any physical/medical condition that could be contributing to the aggression.

Never attempt to correct serious aggression problems on your own
